Ronja is a brand new name on the Faroese music scene. She has a lot on her mind and writes both vulnerable and candid lyrics. The songs are captivating, and she performs a magical soundscape that you absolutely should experience.

The Faroe Islands’ most talked-about punk band, Joe & The Shitboys, fire off the wildest opening shot Summartónar has ever seen. Winners of this year’s Export Award at the FMA, they travel the world pointing their sociopolitical finger at everyone (including themselves).

It turns out that when everyone is awful, that becomes the norm—and once the walls come down, everyone can join their chaotic, filthy party, whether it’s at Roskilde Festival or on the roof of Sigrun Brend.

The reviews reflect that energy too, as they receive high praise for their concerts wherever they perform. They’ve just released two live cassette tapes, and last year they put out GREATEST SHITS, which was a top seller in the UK for two weeks.

Karlakórinn Esja (Male choir Esja) is a 50 member choir from Iceland. We are mostly a traditional male choir, but always with a twist.

Visiting Faroe Island has been on our bucket list for a long time, and that dream is finally coming true!

The choir held a great 80‘s concert at a bar in Iceland this winter and guests at OY can expect to hear the result of that concert. But also powerful traditional choir songs and a few Faroe Islands songs.
